When we talk about human body 3D scanning, we usually first think of those gigantic systems developed by 3Dcopysystems, Kodak, or Naked Labs. Shining 3D reminds us today that human body 3D scanning can also be performed by handheld 3D scanners.
The expert in 3D Scanning technologies joined forces with TechMed3D, a leading provider of software measuring solutions for the human body to provide the industry with the EinScan H and MSoft technologies’capabilities.
As you certainly know, Shining 3D has developed the EinScan H with the goal of performing human body 3D scanning efficiently and safely. TechMed 3D´s MSoft software on the other hand, has been designed for 3D scanning of the human body.
Combined with TechMed 3D’s MSoft solution, the 703 g portable scanner intends to facilitate access for clinicians to clean scans within minutes.
This means that the scanner has been integrated with white light technology, which makes 3D acquisition secure and eye-safe. According to Shining 3D, the Body Scan Mode is a great fit for orthotics and prosthetics applications. It delivers high movement tolerance and its alignment algorithm can also process non-rigid objects.
A press release explains that clinicians can now easily and quickly obtain ready-to-use files to modify, carve, 3D print, design and fit. Using the software with the EinScan H allows clinicians to see what they are scanning in real-time directly in MSoft due to the built-in camera on the scanner.
