Software company Twikit and SaaS provider Oqton decided to connect their design and manufacturing automation software solutions. In case you do not know, Twikit develops a software solution that can easily modify CAD models for AM. Once they host the user-friendly interface on the client-facing side of their AM websites, customers can bring tailor-made products to life. The solution, including a proprietary software kernel, supports the entire customization journey from product parametrization to order and production management.  Examples of products created with Twikit’s solutions include 3D printed parts in the automotive industry or even 3D printed plastic casts.

Oqton on the other hand, provides a solution that relies on a cloud-based platform that can be extendable and customized for every user. The AI-powered solution, mainly known as a cloud-based Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) platform, directly integrates with production systems through IoT solutions. Being able to ensure quoting and pricing, inspection and identification services, topology optimization and more within the same platform requires a very large database that can integrate all data related to the manufacturing process.

Combining a user-friendly customizer from Twikit and the most efficient production with complete traceability from Oqton enables the high-volume manufacturing of personalized products for the consumer, automotive, and medical industries.

The API connection between the Twikit and Oqton software platforms will simplify the manufacturing of personalized products on demand and at scale. It accelerates the power of customization across industries, which are increasingly exploring and investing in individualized and custom products. Their most important drivers are quality consistency and the cost per part, which can be obtained by automating the front and back-end processes. With the integration, companies can enjoy the advantages of both software solutions without any hassle. The connection in place provides customers with an automated workflow from front to back end, making it easy to start offering personalized products on-demand and at scale or improving existing processes, a press release explains.
