Ultimaker users can now 3D Print three ESTANE® 3D TPU grades

The Lubrizol Corporation launches three ESTANE® 3D TPU grades for fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printing applications. The added grades include ESTANE® 3D TPU F94A-055 OR HH PL ESTANE® 3DP TPU 98A, and ESTANE® 3DP TPU F70D.

The new materials are already available in the Ultimaker Marketplace and could be leveraged for various applications including industrial jigs, fixtures, prototypes, end-use parts, as well as flexible parts such as orthopaedic insoles.

As a reminder, Lubrizol joined Ultimaker Material Alliance last year, with the goal of commercializing the Estane® 3D TPU portfolio. Today’s announcement makes this objective a reality as these materials are among the softest and most flexible materials that can be printed on Ultimaker 3D printers.

Several customers have already tested Lubrizol’s new materials and can testify of its capabilities:

ColorFabb C.E.O. Ruud Rouleaux recognizes the importance of ESTANE® 3D TPU F94A-055 OR HH PL material for “its unique high heat long term stability.” John Hosbach, general manager of Village Plastics says he utilizes ESTANE® 3DP TPU F70D for parts that are prone to rough handling because “it provides excellent flexibility and good all-around mechanical properties.” In addition, Hosbach adds “ESTANE® 3DP TPU 98A offers excellent abrasion and chemical resistance while achieving a high level of impact resistance; and most importantly it extrudes consistently and is easy to print.”

David Pascual, Lubrizol’s global 3DP marketing manager, says “we’re very committed to making TPU materials with easy to process and consistent properties available via the Ultimaker Material Alliance Program to provide long-term and sustainable solutions to all the end-users,” Pascual adds, “by focusing on differentiation, our goal is to attract new applications and help increase adoption of Ultimaker 3D printers.
