IN(3D)USTRY is one of these shows that has a clear vision: gather the whole industry into one place for a certain number of days and enables complementary core of activities to merge.

The concept is interesting and also requires innovations so that every company within its sector of activity finds its place in this set. For this 4th edition, things are taking shape and we can already give you the first info:

1 – First, the name: From IN(3D)USTRY to INDUSTRY

The name INDUSTRY definitely maintains coherence with this new vision. Even though last year, the show had already opened up to new industrial sectors, the new name helps to consolidate the strategy initiated last year with the integration of new sectors.

2 – New sectors

As part of this year’s edition, we can expect two new congresses on advanced manufacturing and 3D in the medical field, among the new features.

Another new feature includes the new machine-tool area which will be included in odd-numbered years. It’s been a few years that the European machine tool industry has been back on the growth track and three trends that affect this growth are process automation, additive manufacturing and the rise of electric vehicles.

Let’s say, exhibiting companies will tell us if we can envision common applications between those sectors, but at first sight, the idea of Fira de Barcelona is brilliant.

If you are a regular reader of 3D ADEPT Media, you might wonder what’s the place of 3D Printing in this arena…

3 – New 3D Printing companies…?

Well, from what we observed, new AM companies will join the show this year among which Integral 3D Printing, ARRK, Abrast, Rösler, addimen alongside old exhibitors such as Renishaw and more.

Fira de Barcelona will host these companies from October 29th to 31st at the Gran Via venue, a large exhibition area.

Speaking of this new venue, Miquel Serrano, the director of the event, states: “at INDUSTRY From Needs to Solutions, visitors will be able to experience the industry of the future, with practical and tangible examples of technological solutions for smart production.” Serrano added that “INDUSTRY, the sole industrial platform of Fira de Barcelona, will be held at Gran Via this year, thus improving the experience for exhibitors and visitors who will be able to enjoy all the comforts of a cutting-edge venue such as this one.”
