IN(3D)USTRY opens up to new industrial sectors for its third edition

From October 16th to 18th in Hall 8 at the Montjuïc venue in Barcelona, IN(3D)USTRY will feature 3D printing solutions from a variety of companies as well as solutions from new industrial sectors including robotics, moulds and dies, plastics and new materials; hence its title “From Needs to Solutions”.

“From Needs to Solutions”

Five thematic areas will be featured in Barcelona: advanced manufacturing, moulds and dies, new materials, plastics and 3D printing.

Thus, within a single space, the event will include several previously absent industries which could potentially employ 3D printing. The advanced manufacturing area will incorporate the field of robotics applied to the industrial sector. The moulds and dies area will explore how 3D printing can contribute to reducing costs in this sub-sector. And the new materials area will address the huge possibilities opening up with the use of innovative plastic and metallic components.

Visitors might expect to discover 3D printing innovations from a variety of companies specialized in demanding sectors of the industry: aeronautics, automotive, health, industry and retail. Representatives of these companies will also be explaining their experiences of 3D printing in their production processes to visitors.

According to Miquel Serrano, the event’s director, “the incorporation of new sectors into this year’s fair will enable us to expand the spectrum of additive manufacturing and view the enormous possibilities offered by this technology in many industrial sectors. By grouping together all the production techniques which complement additive manufacturing we will display the entire production and value chain.”

The exhibition has set high standards for this third edition which is currently positioning it as the place to be for additive manufacturing networks in Spain and a benchmark in Southern Europe.
