Titan Robotics brings 3D Printing in West Africa

Nigerian Foundries Limited, a very large foundry in Nigeria (West Africa), marks a milestone in the use of 3D technology in Africa. Indeed, the plant will make use of Atlas, Titan Robotics’ large format 3D printer.

The manufacturer of industrial large 3D printers is known for the quality of its products at affordable prices.

The Atlas

It all started when Nigerian Foundries Limited felt encouraged by Titan’s video on 3D printing and pattern making. Vassily Barberopoulos, NFL owner saw in this technology “the future of manufacturing worldwide”.

Titan Robotics’ 3D printer could create patterns for metal casting.

The Atlas is Titan Robotics’ flagship product. It is an industrial 3D printer whose dimensions are 30″X x 30″Y x 45″Z. They could be customized according to the needs the client.

The industrial 3D printer is “available as an open-air machine or with a custom heated enclosure to allow for printing in high temperature plastics such as ABS and PC+PBT.”

Thanks to Atlas, NFL will change its way of manufacturing. The company will soon become a more competitive company at the international level.

Prospects of development in Africa

If NFL is a family business, the use of 3D Printing has a bigger scope for them.

NFL’s work with 3D printing is also part of a nationwide initiative to foster economic growth and innovation in Nigeria, called the Nigerian Local Content Act.

Impressed by people’s proactivity, Titan CEO Clay Guillory gives his feeling about this journey: “I think it has a lot of potential here, this country is very hungry for learning and very hungry for opportunity”. “People are ready to compete on a global scale here, that’s one thing I took away from Nigeria is this place has a lot offer and it’s an up and coming country.”
