Polish materials producer Spectrum Filaments has unveiled two 3D Printing filaments:  ABS Medical and PET-G FX120. Ideal for medical and engineering applications, these materials deliver properties that meet several requirements in the aforementioned industries.

In the medical industry for instance, materials should not only be biocompatible, they must also be certified by appropriate authorities. ABS Medical for example, is made up of ABS granulate, and can be easily sanded, polished, drilled and painted.

It meets the requirements of biological compliance of USP certificates in class VI or ISO 10993-1. Such compliance also confirms the biocompatibility of the material for 3D Printing applications.

According to the producer, the material can be in contact with the human body for 30 days non-stop, which makes it suitable for light dentures applications or the production of support structures for rehabilitation.

Apart from medical applications, EU standards also approve the use of these materials for the production of objects that are in contact with food.

The other filament, PET-G FX120, on the other hand, is a flexible material, intended for engineering applications. It delivers durability and strength to the printed part, and enables the production of functional parts.

This material can withstand a density of 1.13 g/cm3, a nozzle temperature between 240 & 260°C, a bed temperature of 80°C and a printing speed that can reach up to 70 mm/s. Its applications include prosthetics, orthoses, car parts or various consumer products.

The producer of 3D printing filaments has now expanded its global reach to North and South America. With 3DGence America Inc. as official supplier in this region, users will be able to find a wide range of materials in the store of the industrial 3D printer manufacturer. With basic, engineering and special materials, Spectrum Filaments is ready to take its first steps in the USA.
