New web-based software tool makes 3D models easy to access, collaborate on, and share

A new web-based software tool called glb.ee would make 3D models easy to access, collaborate on, and share.

The tool is purpose-built for 3D artists, production agencies and enthusiasts. The free-to-use tool currently supports glTF, GLB, FBX, OBJ, and STL file types and allows users to view 3D models online, create sharing links, and share models easily.

A variety of view and share permissions are available, including public and private. Future releases will support more file types.A major advantage of Glbee is its ability to send 3D models instantly to clients, where clients can leave comments on them directly. Comments are anchored in the 3D space using unique camera position identifiers.

By tapping on a comment, the camera automatically moves back to its original position, streamlining feedback and production. There are also a number of 3D environment options available, so you can choose the environment that’s most suitable for your model. It is one of the unique features of this platform that all changes to elements such as environment, scale, and lighting are automatically saved, so whenever you share 3D models, those same settings are carried forward. You can also toggle animations within the 3D file, adjust shadows, and adjust scale.

The Glbee platform is also enhanced with an AR option called ‘View in AR’, which lets users view their 3D models instantly using Web-based Augmented Reality powered by 8th Wall.
