Jellypipe reaches new milestone in its journey as it brings its 3D printing platform to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Founded in 2018, the Switzerland-based company provides users with “cost-effective 3D printing [service]. Everywhere. Anytime. With any material.” Its B2B platform includes a real-time marketplace that connects solution partners and 3D printing service partners that own and curate on-line “shops”.

This new expansion is driven by the increasing need for AM as an alternative production process to injection moulding and CNC machining, not to mention that this technology promises innovative solutions when it comes to producing parts with complex geometries on the one hand, and on the other hand, mass customisation and manufacturing on-demand.

Scott Colman, Jellypipe representative for the UK and Ireland says, “It is the extent and the coherence of the Jellypipe platform that is so impressive. It overcomes many of the obstacles that stand between manufacturers and their use of 3D printing, key among which are a lack of understanding as to just what opportunities are available, and also an unwillingness to invest in what is often expensive and difficult to use technology. Jellypipe removes these hurdles and draws together ‘virtual shop’ owning 3D printing solutions providers with an extensive network of 3D printing service providers. The Jellypipe ecosystem means that manufacturers can tap into all the knowledge and expertise necessary to exploit 3D printing effectively for their requirements, and because of the number of service suppliers in the ecosystem can access the perfect technology and the perfect material and finishing options for their applications.”

How does the platform work in practice?

Once they have uploaded their 3D files, users can choose their preferred virtual shop owning solutions provider, and the rest of the process is automatic. As the company explained, the solutions provider will liaise with the customer if necessary to optimise designs or advise on materials etc…, and then the task will be sent to the service provider network for quotes. Quotes will come back for the speediest delivery and for the least expensive cost of production, and the customer can choose which is best, select, and the next thing the parts arrive shipped direct to their premises.

Georges Benz concludes, “Simplicity is the absolute key behind Jellypipe’s success. The number of 3D printing service suppliers in our ecosystem means that customers have access to 13 different additive manufacturing processes, and 50 different printable plastic or metal materials.

Jellypipe is now actively recruiting both 3D printing solutions partners and 3D printing service providers in the UK and Ireland.
