Sweden-based VBN Components AB has signed a partnership with HTL Co. Japan Ltd. The Japan-based company is a distributor of several technology solutions. From now on, it will distributeVBN Components’ new metal alloys.

HTL brings a vast experience in business development, sales, and marketing on high-tech markets such as the semiconductor, additive manufacturing, and space industries. Moreover, its long-term business relations with universities, governmental agencies, and institutes are a great advantage for manufacturers seeking to position themselves on the Japanese market.

“We are proud and honoured to have agreed with HTL, a Japanese enterprise in the field of high technology business, to represent us in the area of additive manufacturing. We are convinced that this strategic agreement will be most important in the business development on the Japanese market”, says Johan Bäckström, CEO of VBN Components.

VBN Components’ metal alloys

Produced for & by additive manufacturing, these metal alloys deliver extreme wear and heat resistance. With the goal of improving material properties for industrial applications, VBN Components has developed various alloys including asVibenite® 290, a hard commercially available steel and Vibenite® 480, a 3D printed cemented carbide.

Although the company rarely shares applications made possible with its metal alloys, the industry recently had the opportunity to discover a few capabilities of these materials through the fabrication of a sport equipment. Described as the world’s hardest skate blades, the parts have been produced in collaboration with Niko Ojala, materials specialist, in order to explore the capabilities of its materials in this application.

This is just one example that demonstrates how these patented Vibenite® materials deliver high-performance products, improving this way the competitiveness of the engineering industry.
