Additive3D Asia is the first to postprocess 3D printed parts with AMT PostPro3D in Southeast Asia

AMT PostPro is taking its first steps on the Asian market. Additive3D Asia, a Singapore-based additive manufacturing company will now leverage PostPro3D’s Vapor Smoothing capabilities to get the desired parts after the 3D printing process.

Additive3D Asia provides online 3D printing services, from on-demand production of product prototypes to short-run manufacturing of end-use parts. With local presence in Malaysia operating under the name Expert3D, Additive3D Asia is the first customer of the British manufacturer of post-processing equipment in the region.

The current market perception of 3D printed parts or products is that they are mainly for prototyping or research & development (R&D) purposes. This is one of the key factors slowing down the adoption of 3D printed parts or products into the mass market and manufacturing industries. Current challenges with 3D printed items including surface finishing, part strength, non-water proof and being food and medical safe are now answered with the automated chemical vapor smoothing process from PostPro3D,” explains Jason Joo Co-Founder and Business Development Director of Additive3D Asia.

As a reminder, the Vapor Smoothing technology give a pleasant look to 3D printed parts while enhancing its mechanical properties, injection molding-like surface, dimensional accuracy, seals against liquid and gas intake, colour enhancement, as well as reduction in bacteria growth.

As Joseph Crabtree, Founder and CEO at AMT, said in an interview with 3D ADEPT Media: “it’s about making a part functionally performant and adding inherent value. It’s only when the parts perform better, that you can unlock those applications across automotive, medical, and other industries that you couldn’t have done previously.”

This seems to be a good start in the year for Additive3D Asia that completes its Digital Manufacturing To You (DM2U©) and Additive Manufacturing To You (AM2U©) Solutions with solid equipment; but also for AMT whose technology is increasingly being used across the world. Indeed, alongside with HP Multi Jet Fusion Technology, the company’s solution is also powering Boston-based Center of Excellence of ABCorp, one of the longest standing manufacturing service providers in the U.S.
