GF extends its production capacity in metal 3D printing at the AMotion Center, focuses on new super alloy

Machine manufacturer GF Casting Solutions conducts the series production of complex components made of super alloys using AM at the AMotion Center, a production centre specifically furnished for that purpose. Also known as GF Additive, the center was granted three of its most important certificates: Nadcap, EN 9100 & ISO 9001 last year.

The AMotion Center’s team of professionals relies on many years of expertise and synergies with the precision casting process to produce (small) series for aerospace, industrial gas turbines and motor sports.

With growing customer demand, GF Additive recently increased its production capacity with a DMP Factory 500 manufacturing system. Remember, this hybrid machine has been developed in collaboration with 3D Systems four years ago.

This new capacity enables the team to process Inconel 625 in addition to alloys such as Alloy X, Inconel 718.

Inconel 625 (IN625) is a nickel-based super alloy used in products for high-temperature applications. IN625 has high strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures, making it ideal for applications in the motorsport, aerospace and energy sectors to withstand the high requirements and stresses. In addition, the AMotion Center is one of the first manufacturers in the world to process this alloy in a printing space of 500 x 500 x 500mm for prototype and series production, the company explains in a communication note.
