“Additive-Talks”: What are the implications of AM for the Energy Industry?

Last week, on May 6th, we gathered experts from Siemens Energy, Engie Laborelec and ETN Global to discuss the implications of Additive Manufacturing for the energy industry.

As several developments are being discussed across the Energy industry, be it for more sustainable energy sources or for better ways to tap natural resources, AM can affect more than just the production of turbines.

In the panel below, Steve Nardone, Lab Manager Advanced Materials Technologies at ENGIE Laborelec, Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Piegert, technology field lead for additive manufacturing at Siemens Energy, and John Oakey, board member at ETN Global & professor of energy technology at Cranfield University (UK):

  • Help professionals understand the energy challenges faced by industries and how technologies such as AM can play their part in addressing them (current environment and future outlooks)
  • Respond to engineers’ concerns regarding the rights steps to take at the manufacturing level
  • Discuss the user perspective and how AM solutions’ providers can address them
  • Provide key advice to companies that want to explore the use of AM within the energy industry
