DyeMansion focuses on “the right processes” as part of the development of its new postprocessing systems

A machine itself does not solve customer problems, which is why we have put such a big focus on the development of the right processes” Philipp Kramer, CTO & Co-founder of DyeMansion.

Yesterday was the official release. After weeks of teasing campaign, DyeMansion finally revealed five new systems in its powershot product portfolio: an upgraded version of the classic Powershot C & S models as well as the Powershot Performance series – which comprises the Powershot Dual Performance, Powershot C Performance, Powershot S Performance -. The launch was backed and animated by tech talks from Siemens, Prototal and EOS.

According to Felix Ewald, CEO & Co-founder of the company that specializes in postprocessing solutions for additive manufacturing, the systems have been built with one question in mind: how can we take industry standard to the next level?

The German company has decided to combine cleaning and surfacing for the first time within the same system.

Built for the factory of the future, the Powershot Performance series can process full-sized build jobs, such as 1x EOS P396 or 1.5x HP Jet Fusion 4200/5200. The systems are equipped with a DyeMansion Multi Belt, an integrated wide troughed belt and can save up to 20% of time to operators.

As expected from the company’s latest press conference, the partnership with Siemens has played a key role in the development of these products that integrate new digital features and state-of-the art automation technology powered by the software provider.

So far, most industrial 3D printers were able to meet industry 4.0 requirements in terms of quality assurance, traceability, connectivity and automation. Other manufacturing equipment including postprocessing systems needed to be upgraded in order to enable a smooth production in the overall manufacturing environment.

The machine manufacturer has also met these needs with the new Powershot DUAL Performance. The new systems would deliver higher throughput in less time and enable traceability throughout the complete production chain. Connectivity on the other hand, is enabled thanks to MES and ERP systems.

Key benefits the operators will experience include improved ease of use, next level part processing, ensured dust retention and simplified troubleshooting.

The Polyshot Cleaning Process

According to the machine manufacturer, most operators are still used to clean parts with glass beads, which comes with some significant weaknesses. To address this issue, they have developed an automated powder removal system that will remove powder without damaging parts or leaving mineral dust on the surface. The proprietary cleaning process integrates a plastic blasting media that has been developed accurately in “the right shape, the right size and the right weight” for this purpose.

A machine itself does not solve customer problems, which is why we have put such a big focus on the development of the right processes. By combining the right machines with the right processes, we have created a solution. The new PolyShot Cleaning process is enabled by a blasting media that was developed from ground up to perfectly match the requirements of depowdering 3D-printed parts”, says Philipp Kramer, CTO & Co-founder of DyeMansion.

Compatible with the new generation of the classic Powershots, the Performance series as well as all common powder-bed technologies, DyeMansion assures that the residue-free cleaning process for brilliant colors allows for a wider range of process parameters and precision adjustment than conventional cleaning processes.

Over the past years, DyeMansion has built up extensive expertise in cleaning, surfacing and coloring while taking into account industry requirements. One of these requirements was not only to navigate through industry 4.0 but also to help customers reach that level of industrialization by finding the ideal balance between industrialization and automation. After yesterday’s conference, we have the feeling this should probably no longer be a concern.
