8 disruptive technologies including AM to see at The IDTechEx Show – Airbus, Altran and Microsoft to open the show

IDTechEx

The IDTechEx Show!
at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin, Germany on 10 – 11 April is a global event that brings together emerging technologies with global brands.

The event features over 200 exhibitors and 2,500 expected attendees from over 60 countries.  250 speakers across 8 concurrent conference tracks will cover the key emerging technology sectors of 3D printing, electric vehicles, energy storage, graphene, IoT, printed electronics, sensors and wearables.

Airbus, Altran and Microsoft will officially launch the event.

Airbus and Altran will jointly conducted the first presentation that aims to reveal the progress with printed electronics. The latter technology enables to reduce the number of discrete parts leading to weight and manufacturing cost saving as well as a simplified architecture, while also allowing for last-minute customisation.

Their well-known printed electronics information panel cabin interior displays passenger related safety and comfort information.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, Dr Kitty Yeung will present on “Demands And Opportunities In The Tech-Fashion Industry,” bringing together innovations in sensors, wearables, IoT and other technologies with creative design.

With the development of open-source hardware, creatives have started to include functional electronics in garments. Driven by creative designs, the industry has tremendous opportunities but also faces significant challenges in scaling. This talk will discuss gaps in the ecosystem and how technologies can help transform the traditional garment industry.
