Triditive has completed a $1.8 million series seed investment round to support the development of its industrial automated additive manufacturing.

The Asturias-based manufacturer develops a metal 3D printer called AMCELL, a hybrid automated 3D printing system that processes both metals and polymers to address the needs of mass manufacturing in a cost-effective way. By relying on both advanced robotics powered by machine learning, the manufacturer does not only bring AM to the production floor, it can easily enable manufacturers to scale their production.

The new seed round is backed by industry connoisseurs such as Stanley Ventures (Stanley Black & Decker) – an organization that is at the heart of an intensive acceleration program where Triditive took part in, two years ago -, Techstars, Hunosa empresas, Fourth Funding, IDEPA, and a selected group of business angels from Spain, France and Switzerland.

“We see tremendous growth potential in the Additive Manufacturing industry,” said Sean Wright, Stanley Ventures Managing Director. “Triditive demonstrated its ability to innovate and create a novel product. We look forward to working with the team to extend our impact in the Additive Manufacturing industry.”

Recently named as one of the 50 most innovative startups of 2020 by Spanish publication Emprendedores, the seed round will support the opening of the largest additive factory in Spain and the launch of the company’s on-demand manufacturing services; its ultimate goal being to create the Factory of the Future.

“We are delighted to welcome our new investors and thankful to our existing shareholders for their continued support, said Mariel Diaz, CEO at Triditive. “This funding validates our approach to industrialize additive manufacturing through automation and enables us to expand our market presence.”

The Spanish AM market is still very nascent and it feels good to count Triditive among the companies that might take it to the next industrial level.
