Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos now wears a 3D printed face mask

After breaking his nose during a dramatic match, Sergio Ramos, captain of Real Madrid will wear for a while a 3D printed mask.

Made from a 3D printable carbon fiber material, the 3D printed mask is lightweight, black and pretty original.

As a reminder, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid met a week ago for the Spanish league. The match ended on an equal score 0-0.

Anyway, Sergio Ramos left the match at half-time after receiving a late kick from Lucas Hernandez (player of Atletico), roughly breaking his nose.

The 3D printed mask

Designed by Zaragoza-headquarted Younext, Podoactiva’s subsidiary specialized in protective devices, the carbon fiber material used is a premium material used in Formula 1 cars and aerospace components.

For a while, the customized mask will protect the defender during trainings and matches without causing more damage to his bones.

Furthermore, since the shape of his face is going to change in a few days, a 3D scan will be required in order to realize another design which might be helpful for a more physical action (during a match).
