Haddy, a company that initially focused on producing furniture design, has opened a large-format 3D printing factory in Florida, USA.

The facility features eight Flexbot robotic 3D printing systems with integrated CNC post-processing capabilities from machine manufacturer CEAD.

CEAD’s Flexbot is designed for fully automated, end-to-end manufacturing of large composite parts.

For CEAD, this marks a significant milestone in enabling customers with localized, fully integrated manufacturing”, said Lucas Janssen, CEO and co-founder of CEAD. “This microfactory is a powerful testament to what CEAD and our team can achieve, delivering advanced technology at scale, but it’s also a showcase of what’s possible when visionary companies like Haddy embrace this technology to drive local production and real-word impact.’

Starting with just two Flexbot systems in 2022, Haddy has since scaled to eight Flexbot systems, demonstrating one of the key advantages of CEAD’s modular approach.

Powered by AI, the factory now has 16 times the production capacity of its nearest 3D printing competitor. Initially focused on furniture, the technology allows the company to expand into other high-impact sectors, producing high-performance components for industries including construction, disaster recovery, and beyond.

According to Gat Caperton CEO of Gat Creek and Board member of the AHFAT who attended the inauguration event, “Haddy has created a clean factory that takes digital designs and turns them into beautiful, lasting objects. The materials are circular. The process generates no waste. The process is fast accurate and repeatable. Haddy is doing the kind of manufacturing we long wished we could do. And though it will expand region by region globally, it has begun in the United States.”
