Rapid Shape has launched its new range of 3D printers, the S+ series. Designed for jewellery applications, the German manufacturer said the new 3D printers set new standards in terms of quality and reproducibility of the printing processes.
From the hearing to the jewellery industry
Rapid Shape is one of these manufacturers that designs and develops dedicated technologies for specific industries. The company first drew the attention of the industry with 3D printers designed for the hearing aid industry.
If the design is a little bit similar to those unveiled today, it should be noted that the S+ series is available in several sizes. The 3D printers of the new line include the Studio-Line S20+ and S30+. Ideal candidates for casting shops, design offices and jewellery manufacturers, their fast and precise production can achieve castable jewellery prototypes. The S90+ standalone or cabinet 3D printers of the Heavy-Duty Line are suitable for continuous industrial use at maximum speed and automation.
“The new jewellery 3D printers start exactly where the user needs them: we respond to the needs of the industry. Those who want to achieve optimum printing results can do so with the S20+ and S30+ in fine, regular or large versions. Our printers are ideally suited for detailed, filigreeand precise surfaces with little post-processing,” says Andreas Schultheiss, Managing Director of Rapid Shape. “We also have a new solution for large-scale production: with our automated part separation module (ASM, patent pending) we are taking another step towards full automation.”
If nothing is said about the materials they can process, we believe the materials that will be processed by the DLP technology are those developed by Henkel.
As for the finishing stage, further processing of the Rapid Prototyping parts becomes seamless and even easier. RS wash and RS cure make it possible to clean and cure the printed parts easily and cleanly. The networking of these products with the printer ensures optimum and consistent processes, simplifying the workflow and enabling the gold weights to be more precise and the casting to be perfect. The resulting end product is not only directly castable, but also impresses with its excellent surface finish.
