Jugnoo, an India-based on-demand hyper-local transport and logistics app has launched Printo, an on-demand 3D printing store (Chandigarh).
Companies are aware of the 3D printing demand and the difficulty for users to get access to some services hence the increasing adoption of stores, be it online or in physical points. In specific industries of the additive manufacturing or for specific companies such as SMEs, on-demand 3D printing stores address all kinds of needs.
Nano Dimension, for instance recently launched a 3D-printed electronics online service enabling designers and engineers to develop smart and electrified objects. buildPl8 Manufacturing on its side, a New-Jersey based company launched a cloud-based 3D Printing Factory for SMEs.
‘Printo’
Jugnoo partners with GEM Platform, a Korean company, and positions itself as their exclusive Indian re-sellers of 3D printers that make 3D objects using PLA and ABS filaments. Gemini, one of their printer models, stands out in the cluster due to its app and web-based ease of integration.
The user of Printo will get a customized product/prototype through Jugnoo app. Jugnoo will take in charge the delivery of the product while respecting deadlines. Furthermore, over time, merchants around India will integrate the platform in order to further enhance the service.
Areas of education, medical, architecture, automotive, electronics etc. are the first targeted since they increasingly use 3D printing.
Education as a future service?
“We also plan on expanding our services by educating kids on 3D printing technology, hardware & software, designing, linking and other basic details. We are empowering tomorrow’s creators by integrating technology in their disciplines. For instance, inculcating 3D printing into the existing curriculum of Robotics could also be a good platform in shaping kids future,” adds Samar Singla, Founder and CEO.
The company is not the first that will follow the path of education. PrintLab, a British distributor of 3D printing systems is one of the companies that preceded Jugnoo on this path. However, its mission was focused on women, whose situation is still precarious.
3D printing is incredibly helpful and useful for startups. However, the market is still young hence the interest of companies in distributing their products and services in the country.
