The new Freeformer 550-3X from ARBURG with Gestica production assistant will be presented in Formnext 2024, Frankfurt. The 3D printer is based on ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) unveiled for the first time in 2018 in the Freeformer 300-3X.
The Freeformer 550-3X prototype from ARBURG is equipped with 2 discharge units and a 230*230*230 mm build chamber which is relatively smaller & affordable than the Freeformer 750-3X by replacing the Freeformer 200-3X.
The Freeformer 550-3X can interest industrial users in the medical tech sector. At Formnext 2024, resorbable implants built from regular medical elements will also be displayed. The new open system consists of leveraged droplet discharge, optimized material alterations & latest production assistant, which actively assists the operator using the GESTICA control system from loading the build job to kickstarting the 3D printing.
It makes the operation much easier & enables non-experts to Additively Manufacture elements using an error-free process. The advantage of Freeformer 550-3X lies in its capability to process high-temp materials like PC & PEKK.
The innovatiQ TiQ 8 filament printer will also be on display at Formnext. With a build chamber measuring 500*400*450 mm, the 3D printer can fabricate components made of flame-retardant materials such as PC and PEKK for the transport sector.
Another newcomer is ARBURG’s LiQ 5 printer, which is supposed to unlock new paths in processing complex components: The printer also supports Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) processing with support materials.
This latest addition caters to a diversified portfolio of industries & different applications can be seen via customized medical implants and special mobility solutions to high-precision electronics components. For visitors to Formnext 2024, ARBURG offers the chance to explore the latest developments at its booth, Hall 12.1, Stand D76.
There, visitors can experience firsthand how the company is pushing ahead in Additive Manufacturing with advanced materials & diverse customizable solutions for industries like healthcare, mobility & electronics.
