With a new visual identity and a redesigned platform, Aniwaa has just completed its pivot to a B2B marketplace model. Founded in 2014 by entrepreneurs Martin Lansard and Pierre-Antoine Arrighi, Aniwaa has taken some time to find its ideal business model – like any startup, and the path it felt right to provide its services to the industry.
The transition had been announced two years ago, and for the online marketplace that helps professionals research, evaluate, and purchase industrial-grade additive manufacturing and 3D capture equipment, its completion is the start of a new chapter for the entire team.
“We believe the professional buyer’s journey is moving online fast, including in AM,” states Martin Lansard, Aniwaa’s CEO and co-founder. “Our goal is to facilitate every step of this journey not only for buyers– with innovative features like sample ordering or VR/AR product demos– but also for suppliers and manufacturers aiming to build their brands and generate qualified leads. We’ve been called an online trade show, open 24/7/365 by some of our users and we think they’re spot on!”
Aniwaa also explains that professional buyers expect more convenient purchasing experiences and B2B marketplaces gain ground across most industries, and for the team, the additive manufacturing sector makes no exception. In a post-COVID world where remote interactions are the new normal and the buyer’s journey increasingly takes place online, Aniwaa fills the gap with a marketplace designed specifically to connect AM buyers and suppliers.
“Industrial AM systems continue to be a fast-growing market. Many professional applications are reaching maturity and we’re seeing strong untapped potential overall,” he says. “But the technology is still complex and new hardware is being released almost daily, creating a highly fragmented market and making it difficult for potential buyers to make an informed choice. Our marketplace helps companies identify the right solutions for their projects and seamlessly connect them to trusted suppliers”, Pierre-Antoine Arrighi, Aniwaa’s co-founder notes.
Among the new resources of this new chapter, one notes that the team recently unveiled its post-processing catalog covering over 100 products while, on the supplier side, subscription plans have been launched to enable AM brands to manage their presence and generate leads on the marketplace.
Building on this continued momentum, Aniwaa was selected in June 2022 to join Technocité in Bayonne, the leading incubator for industrial startups in the French Basque Country. The company hence just moved to its new headquarters at the heart of Technopole Pays Basque, a groundbreaking technological ecosystem focused on advanced manufacturing.
