xolo, the developer of volumetric 3D printing, launches Xell, a bioprinter designed to make volumetric bioprinting accessible to every lab. The announcement follows several milestones in xolo’s activities; milestones that include collaborations with companies across vertical industries as well as the launch of an improved version of Xube.

Built for researchers in mind, Xell offers all the benefits of volumetric printing with a starting price of EUR 20,000. With a print volume of 10x17x10 mmÂł, Xell features an optimized build chamber tailored for standard disposable cuvettes.

This size is ideal for high-value bio-inks, enabling a range of applications from tissue scaffolds to custom hydrogels.

According to xolo, Xell achieves high resolution with smooth, layer-free structures using full HD resolution powered by a high-intensity LED light sheet. The 3D printer’s layer-free Xolography process ensures isotropic properties, making it a powerful tool for developing advanced biomaterials.

The company explains in a press communication that ready-to-use bio-inks and intuitive interface Xell’s plug-and-play design is compatible with its bio-inks, allowing researchers to start printing immediately. The simple, intuitive interface reduces setup time. Being an open platform, users can also develop their own materials on Xell.

Visitors at Formnext will see Xell in action and grab their test print in Hall 11.1, Booth D31.
