We have not yet recovered from the media hype generated by Method, Makerbot’s recently launched FDM 3D Printer, not to mention the latest advancements at the material and software levels, and yet the company of Stratasys is preparing the official launch of another 3D Printer.
Named Method X, we have learned from the video below that it is a FDM 3D Printer, that would print complex and durable ABS parts with a 100°C heated chamber. Furthermore, Makerbot claims that this new printer would print two times faster than other desktop 3D Printers.
Furthermore, Makerbot claims that this new printer would print two times faster than other desktop 3D Printers. With 21 onboard sensors that enable users monitor, improve, and print their parts, including RFID chips, temperature sensing, humidity control, material detection, there is no doubt this 3D printer is a smart device.
Powered by Stratasys® SR-30 soluble support material, the superior Z layer would provide higher strength without warping or curling, and the 3D printer would be compatible with Autodesk Fusion 360, SOLIDWORKS and AUTODESK Inventor and support for over 30 types of CAD files, helping users turn their CAD files to parts quicker.
According to the manufacturer, printed parts could be used for end-use assemblies, manufacturing tools and functional prototypes. Las but not least, the starting price of Method X is $4,999.
“When we initially launched METHOD, we broke the price-to-performance barrier by delivering a 3D printer that was designed to bridge the technology gap between industrial and desktop 3D printers. This made industrial 3D printing accessible to professionals for the first time. Since then, we have shipped hundreds of printers and received positive feedback from our customers on the precision and reliability of the machine,” said Nadav Goshen, CEO, MakerBot. “With METHOD X, we are taking a step further to revolutionize manufacturing. METHOD X was created for engineers who need true ABS for production-ready parts that are dimensionally-accurate with no geometric restrictions. METHOD X delivers industrial-level 3D printing without compromising on ABS material properties and automation in a new price category.”
