Rapid Shape® GmbH has announced the validation of Keystone Industries® 3D Printing materials on its dental 3D printers.
Keystone Industries® is a group of dental companies that specializes in consumable laboratory products and operatory/preventative products. The company has developed a dedicated line of products for the dental industry. This line includes the KeyPrint series of 3D printing materials: the Keystone’s unique 3D splint and nightguard material, KeySplint Soft.
Both materials have now been validated for use on Rapid Shape’s line of 3D printers. These 3D printers include D20+, D30+, D20 II, D30 II and D40 II. This validation expands Rapid Shape’s offering in terms of materials. As a reminder, the 3D Printer manufacturer can already offer Voco’s 3D printing materials to its users in the dental industry.
According to Keystone’s dental president, Ira Rosenau, “In the D20, D30 and D40 printing systems, Andreas (the CEO of Rapid Shape) and his team have created a user-friendly, efficient and clever workflow that yields precise printed parts.” Miguel Perez, Keystone’s Vice President of International Sales Development, noted that, “Rapid Shape has established a loyal customer base here in Europe and a strong reputation for quality, and we believe we can help each other continue to grow in Europe, North America and other territories.”
On the other hand, it should be noted that KeyPrint is a line of open-source dental resins which meet market needs and product quality while rigorously ensuring the products are safe, effective, and compliant with international standards. According to the material producer, the KeySplint Soft is a suitable candidate for the production of splints and night guards.
Keystone Industries® states in a press communication that, without being brittle, it is tough and durable like a hard splint to withstand the forces of bruxism, yet flexible for patient comfort. KeySplint Soft is made in the USA, has 3 years of guaranteed shelf life, and has regulatory clearance in the USA, Canada, EU, and Australia. Biocompatible resins like KeyGuide, KeyTray and the upcoming KeyIBT also have been rigorously tested and will be available to Rapid Shape users.
Rapid Shape’s open material system approach makes it easier to validate suitable materials for all indications in close cooperation with materials suppliers. Therefore, this means that we can expect further 3D printing partnerships between Rapid Shape and material suppliers.
