Several Additive Manufacturing companies have been rethinking their strategy to enhance their business. While some of them have been receiving fundings from new investors, others are currently appointing a line-up of forward-thinking experts, who will support them in their next phase of development. That’s what we saw at Evolve Additive, Kumovis and Roboze.
Since June 2020, LEGO Group COO, Carsten Rasmussen has been working as a member of Evovle Additive’s board of directors. Needless to remind LEGO Group’s mission which is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through the power of play.
It’s been two decades that Mr. Rasmussen has been working for the LEGO Group. However, he was appointed COO in 2017. During his 18-year career with the Group, he has held a diverse range of leadership roles in Europe, America and Asia. These include Senior Vice President of Shopper Marketing & Channel Development and Senior Vice President, European Production and Packaging, where he oversaw the Group’s manufacturing sites in Kladno, Czech Republic and Billund, Denmark. He was also General Manager, LEGO Supply Chain in Hong Kong and Director, Purchasing.
At the corporate level, not only is Lego Brand Group one of the investors in Evolve’s STEP technology but the group is well aware of the advancements of AM technologies as it is involved in some research in the field.
“Carsten is a wonderful additional to our board,” stated Steve Chillscyzn, CEO of Evolve Additive Solutions, “his background in additive manufacturing technology and supply chain management as well as his experience with high-quality ABS plastic parts brings years of expertise to our board.”
Another company that welcomed a new member in its advisory board is Roboze. The Italian 3D printer manufacturer is extremely thrilled that Federico Faggin will accompany them in their next phase of growth. Known as the inventor of the microprocessor and co-inventor of the touchpad and the touchscreen, Faggin has been granted several awards including the highest honor in the USA in the field of technological innovation, from President Barack Obama, for the invention of the microprocessor.
In his country of origin, Italy, he received the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit by President Sergio Mattarella. Today, at Roboze, Faggin is more than a member of the advisory board as he also invests in the company that embodies the pride he has for his country.
“A few years ago I met Alessio Lorusso and I recognized in him an exceptional foresight and remarkable creative and organizational skills. With great enthusiasm, I therefore accepted his offer to be part of the ROBOZE Advisory Board. I am proud to see an Italian company that knows how to compete in the global economy with cutting-edge products in such a demanding sector and I am pleased to make my experience available so that ROBOZE can grow as it deserves. ” says Eng. Federico Faggin.
Lastly, in Germany, Kumovis is excited to welcome Vincent Gardès as Chairman of the board. As former CEO of Vexim, Gardès brings a strong entrepreneurial and international management background with several years of experience in the medical device industry.
That’s exactly what the manufacturer of Kumovis R1 needs as the company is entering a new page of its journey with a recent investment from Solvay Ventures.
From Stryker Corp and Medtronic Europe to CR Bard, Vexim and Truffle Capital, Gardès is uniquely positioned to support Kumovis in a sustainable development and growth and helps the company in driving 3D printing for personalized medicine.
“I am very glad and excited to join Kumovis and help to further develop this very promising company,” said Vincent Gardès. “Its innovation is best in class, the team very talented and committed. And the market continues to trend in the right direction for us.”
