Stephan Kuehr, founder of 3YOURMIND, and former CCO of xolo, founded opdo, an AI co-pilot for design and simulation. Designed to help engineers generate advanced, manufacturable optical systems from a simple prompt—in minutes, the platform will first focus on volumetric lens fabrication before expanding to catalog optics and all major production technologies.

Thanks to the combination of simulation and optimization on a single platform, engineers can easily define optical intent using natural language.

AI agents handle design, simulation, optimization, and prepare outputs for manufacturing. Through direct CAD integration, optics, mechanics, and electronics can be co-developed within a unified workflow.

The rise of AI agents

With opdo, Kuehr also raises awareness on the rise of AI agents and their ability to produce more accurate results. Although their potential to redefine productivity and generate real business value is evident, their true impact on manufacturing has not yet been formally addressed. These hidden agents of change—embedded in autonomous software—will be examined more thoroughly, especially in the context of additive manufacturing (AM).

opdo makes optical design as accessible and integrated as electrical or mechanical CAD,” says Stephan Kuehr. “We’re bridging design and manufacturing through intelligent agents—so hardware teams can move faster from idea to physical product.”

opdo is now expanding its early user program and onboarding select engineering teams.
