Joyseat, a custom 3D printed saddle that matches your butt

Priced at €490, the saddle and each of its individual components is produced in Czech Republic.

Czech cycling tech company Posedla introduces a 3D-printed saddle that is fully customized to match rider’s individual needs and sit bones. Named Joyseat – a product name that portrays comfort -, the saddle received investments from 3D printing leader Josef Prusa and now aims to be distributed globally across Europe, USA and Asia.

To create a made-to-measure saddle, Posedla spent two years developing an algorithm that transforms data from the rider’s sit bones imprint and ride preferences into customized saddles on an industrial 3D printer based on MJF technology.

Customers can place the order from the comfort of their homes. The patent pending Joyseat structure allows for individual parts of the saddle to be made to different stiffnesses to match the individual needs and sit bones of each rider.

“We managed to break the mold of assembly-line production of saddles by taking full advantage of industrial 3D printing with Multi Jet Fusion technology. We are driven by positive feedback from our customers who appreciate comfort and welcome the possibility of finally having a fully customized saddle,” explains Martin Ripa, co-founder of Posedla.

Posedla are an official supplier of L’Etape Czech Republic by Tour de France and partner of two UCI continental teams: ATT Investments from the Czech Republic and RRK Pierre Baguette Benzinol from Slovakia directed by Juraj Sagan (ex. Total Energies, Bora-Hansgrohe). The company now plans to widen their current product range of saddles and cycling cosmetics with other products related to other bike contact points. First test riders have already tried an MTB grip prototype which should appear on the market in the coming months.
