Berlin-based GEFERTEC has announced the arc10X, a new Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) system specifically engineered for companies looking to integrate metal additive manufacturing into sustained production environments.

The arc10X aims to go beyond pilot projects and is positioned as a cost-accessible entry point into industrial WAAM, combining low initial investment with the process reliability demanded by series production.

Key features include NC control for consistent output, real-time process monitoring, an integrated protective housing, and a modular, scalable architecture available in 3- or 5-axis configurations. Full process traceability and data logging are also built in; capabilities that matter for quality documentation.

The machine targets a gap that has persisted in the WAAM market: the absence of a system designed from the ground up for continuous operation rather than intermittent, research-adjacent use. GEFERTEC is positioning the arc10X as the answer to that gap, at a price point that makes industrial adoption more accessible across sectors.

This launch reflects a broader trajectory for the Berlin-based manufacturer. As we reported in 2021, GEFERTEC had already established a meaningful foothold in the industrial ecosystem through its integration with Siemens Digital Industries, which incorporated GEFERTEC’s WAAM technology into the NX CAM module, enabling users to run the complete CAD/CAM process chain within a single platform.

That kind of integration into established digital manufacturing workflows signals the company’s long-term intent.

The reference to Siemens Energy as an active user of GEFERTEC systems for spare parts manufacturing underscores the point. WAAM has moved beyond the research environment.

With the arc10X, GEFERTEC makes a clear argument that their new 3D printer can enable that accessibility.

More information on the arc10X is available on GEFERTEC’s website.
