BCN3D takes a major step forward with Epsilon and Sigma 3D Printer Series

After securing €2.8 million in its last funding round, BCN3D is now making a real splash with the launch of its next-Generation 3D Printers: Epsilon W27, Smart Cabinet, and Sigma D25.

For a long time, BCN3D’s brand has been associated with the Sigma and Sigmax 3D printers. They have now been improved and replaced by the Sigma D25. The new IDEX (Independent Dual Extruder) based-system has been enhanced with heat distribution, a refined calibration process, new embedded electronics, a refined extrusion system and reinforced axes.

Designed to provide maximum productivity for various applications including prototyping, its improved functionality also makes the Sigma D25 a good candidate for  educational and research projects.

The Epsilon series on the other hand, has been created with industrialization goals in mind. Following the flagship model launched in November, the Epsilon series now springs to life with the Epsilon W50 and Epsilon W27 3D printers. While both 3D printers deliver the same functionality, the Epsilon W27 distinguishes itself from the W50 with a smaller build volume (50 liters vs. 27 liters) and competitive pricing.

On a more technical note, it should be noted that the Epsilon series can be equipped with a Smart Cabinet to further boost the 3D printers’ performance. Furthermore, the machine integrates a filament humidity feature that keeps materials in optimal condition, and an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that protects the print job at all times, eliminating the risk of losing a print job due to power outages.

“I see it as our job every day to make every aspect of the customer experience better. With the launch of this new portfolio, I strongly believe we have done just that. The new fully integrated product offering means customers can find the quality and productivity they need at the price-point they can afford, making it easier than ever for users around the world to innovate and create faster,” says Eric Pallarés, BCN3D CTO.

In the upcoming year, when BCN3D will be unveiling first applications of this new series, we will be able to witness and appreciate their capabilities. BCN3D has done a lot since it became a standalone company – a lot to expand its business and for the community during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic -.  However, this launch marks a new era as the company is aware it still has a long road to go, with the recent funding they secured. As the market needs are evolving towards the use of more open systems, we are very keen to discover what possibilities BCN3D is exploring for the final user, moving forward. Anyway, no matter what happens, they are ready for whatever is next, as they continue to be backed by a strong and growing team and a community that shares their vision.
