AREVO will collaborate with Pilot Distribution Group BV for the production of 3D Printed carbon fiber unibody frames.
AREVO entered this market to enable industries to produce parts of bicycles, aircraft, space vehicles as well as other applications that require the strength and lightness of carbon fiber. Following its first funding round in 2018, the company delivers its first line of 3D printed frames for “Emery” brand in April 2019.
So, today is a proud day for AREVO since it marks the company’s second major customer win in the cycling industry within the last six months.
Today at Eurobike, an exhibition dedicated to the bicycle industry, AREVO announces the production of a new line of e-bikes from Pilot. Called the EVE9, a prototype is already displayed at the booth of its partner, Pinion GmbH (Messe Friedrichshafen – Hall A2 – 105).
“AREVO’s continuous carbon fiber technology is very impressive as it affords numerous design possibilities and provides excellent strength and durability,” said Arno Pieterse from Pilot. “The technology truly is a revolution in composites manufacturing and enables us to offer all the high-performance qualities we envisioned for EVE.”
“We thank Pilot for the confidence they have shown in the AREVO DNA™ technology, which is unique in the additive manufacturing (AM) world,” said Hemant Bheda, Co-Founder and Chairman of AREVO. “We feel we are making a significant impact in the bike industry and see near-term applicability in other areas of green urban mobility, from electric scooters to e-VTOLs, or flying cars.”
The company’s technology features patented software algorithms enabling generative design techniques, free-motion robotics for “True 3D” construction, and direct energy deposition for virtually void free construction all optimized for anisotropic composite materials.
So, AREVO might be celebrating this second major customer today, but it is definitely not the last one.
