Material producer AM 4 AM recently celebrated a milestone in its journey: the improvement of mechanical properties of its HiperAL aluminium alloy.
The company announced the development of this aluminum alloy two years ago. It wanted to rely on its partnership with Pint to design and produce prototypes that would help improve this material – which it successfully did.
As a reminder, the material HiperAL is a zirconium derivative of a 7000 series aluminium powder. The improved mechanical properties reached 525 MPa in yield strength and 550 MPa in UTS.
For AM 4 AM, there is no doubt this milestone in the quest for the ideal aluminum material with the highest mechanical properties, is the sign that AM users across the world could achieve enhanced performance and repeatable aluminum parts with AM.
