Estudio Guto Requena just created a new design app that allows users to give a touch of reality to your love stories through a 3D printed pendant. 3D printing and digital fabrication methods open the doors to a wide range of possibilities for personalized design.
How could one “capture love” and transform it into a “physical design”?
This is the one million dollars question!
In a quiet place, users make use of their mobile phone to tell their love story. While speaking into a mobile, their index finger should rest over the device’s flashlight, the application will then capture the vocal love story but also read the speaker’s heart beat. Thereafter, emotional data are measured from the voice and later transformed into a generative model design. The latter is then 3D printed to get the Aura pendant.
The aim is to give a concrete touch of reality and uniqueness to a love story hence the unique mandala-like design (circular design) per person.
With this love project, the Brazil-based architecture firm’s vision is to make meaningful connections between the realms of technology and emotion.
“When you remember the love story of your life, all your body reacts with your emotions. Now you can capture those emotions and turn them into unique jewellery. The project suggests a future in which unique products will bear personal histories in ways that encourage long life cycles, thus inherently combining deeply meaningful works with sustainable design.” said the company.
