Almost a year after the launch of the da Vinci Color 3D printer, XYZprinting unveils its little sister, the da Vinci Color Mini.
The latest machine of the manufacturer is a full color 3D printer that integrates three CMY ink cartridges to stain the filament as it is extruded, while enabling up to 15 million color combinations.
Price, a priority
This time, the priority of the manufacturer was the price: “Now, consumers can purchase an easy-to-operate, affordable, compact full-color 3D printer for $30,000 less than market rate”, said Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting.
Other technical specifications include a hands-free auto calibration, an EZ removable print bed, WiFi connectivity, and a 5-inch color LCD screen.
By integrating the manufacturer’s 3DColorJet technology, the new printer combines and diffuse droplets of colored ink from printer ink cartridges between layers of PLA in order to create 3D printed-model.
Unlike the former 3D printer who is intended for professionals, the manufacturer has launched the da Vinci Color Mini for educational and home markets.
It should be noted that, even though, the prints are not as perfect as the prints of the da Vinci Color, it’s interesting to consider printing in full color for the price of a unique color 3D printer ($1,599 = price of the da Vinci Color Mini).
