Have you ever heard that if you control the powder, you control the process? While many still doubt of the rationale behind implementing a powder management system, Sinterit does not. The Polish 3D printer manufacturer used to sell its powder in a 2kg plastic bottle. Despite its convenience, one bottle was not always enough.
The team recently came to realize that by changing the new metal container and by linking a Powder Funnel, the operator could fill the printer without powder floating in the air. The process would be simple, clean and easy.
The company states that the process is compatible with Sieve and Cyclone Separator used with ATEX Vacuum Cleaner, devices that have recently been released to enhance the use of LISA and LISA Pro. As a reminder, the ATEX certification covers “equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.”
For more accuracy during the use of the new funnel, two metal elements can help the operator pour the powder without any chance of scattering it and soiling the pyrometers or other parts of the printer.
“This device was designed with two functions in mind. Filling the printer in is the first one. The other is to take out the printout and move it to the post-processing area fast and safe”, said the company in a press release. Furthermore, to begin the post-processing stage, a Foldable Tray can serve to remove the printout from the printer and putting it into sandblaster. While keeping the powder in one place, it is easy to vacuum.
It’s only when they will be using these new powder tools that Sinterit LISA Pro users will be able to assess how much time they can save. In the meantime, it’s fair to note that Sinterit keeps user-friendliness in mind for the use of its 3D printers.
