Ricoh USA, Inc. and Insight Surgery, an expert in personalized surgical planning and guide production, partner to provide healthcare professionals with 3D printed surgical guides. This is not Ricoh’s first collaboration to develop surgical guides. The 3D printing service bureau also collaborated with the likes of Stratasys and Materialise.
Designed for pediatric and adult orthopedic and maxillofacial surgeries, these high-tech, personalized surgical guides increase accuracy, lower risks, and offer better results in theater rooms.
Applications that may require these surgical guides include for instance osteotomies, pelvic operations, and facial reconstruction.
The partnership combines Ricoh’s vast healthcare network and advanced 3D printing capabilities with Insight Surgery‘s innovative approach to developing surgical guides. Each guide is custom-tailored for that particular patient’s anatomy.
This means the ability to deliver an individualized approach to surgery. Built-in FDA-registered facilities with a time-efficient turnaround: rapid production and delivery within 10 days—a remarkable benefit in time-sensitive surgical scenarios.
