Suprisingly but true, the dental industry sometimes requires the mass production of certain applications such as clear aligners. Indeed, customers can produce thousands of aligners per day and this raises another issue regarding the industrialization of mass personalization, enabled by 3D printing.
To tackle this issue, Prodways Group laucnhes an automated 3D printing modular system for the dental industry. The French manufacturer therefore combines its dental 3D printers to automation and robotics brought by its parent company, Group Gorgé and a clear aligner workflow software player.
Prodways will therefore bring an integrated robotic solution for the production of clear aligners. This automated modular system covers all production phases: from design to 3D printing, and from thermoforming of the aligners to their packaging, and all 24/7.
According to the company, the different versions of this automated 3D modular system can produce more than 2,000 clear aligners per day. The modules are equipped with 2 or more machines consuming more than 2 tons of materials per year.
The solution will be showcased for the first time at the IDS dental trade fair which starts today.
