Who recently purchased what? And who will distribute what? This edition of “news roundup” covers multiple purchases and 3D printing partnerships across the world.

New purchases and operating agreements

Interspectral will support AMEXCI’s R&D activities | Renishaw will support IAM 3D HUB’s activities| Sintavia completes its production with two M4K-4 Printers from AMCM GmbH

As part of a collaboration, Interspectral will support the R&D activities of additive manufacturing company AMEXCI AB with its software AM Explorer.

Eleven large Nordic corporations founded AMEXCI with the goal of accelerating the industrial use of AM by raising awareness of the technology and support customers in developing products and training people

Launched in 2019 and designed for metal AM, Interspectral’s software makes it possible to fuse, explore and analyze design files, simulation data, machine monitoring data and post-build metrology data. It has been upgraded last year as part of a collaboration with Siemens.

In the same vein, digital innovation center, IAM 3D HUB, has just incorporated Renishaw’s RenAM 500Q in its facilities. The metal 3D printer replaces the previous models, AM 250 and AM 400 and aims to accelerate innovation through the production of stainless steel parts with a manufacturing rate of up to 150cm3/h.

As a reminder, Renishaw’s technology has four 500 W high-power lasers and the proximity between the lasers in the optical system considerably reduces thermal errors and ensures simultaneous access of all lasers to the entire worktable surface.

In the recently inaugurated laboratory, the 3D printer joins a portfolio that already includes a fleet of 16 HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D printers along with HP’s post-processing and part cleaning stations as well as different filament printing equipment and photosensitive resins, as well as technology for cleaning and post-processing of the different parts.

Lastly, Sintavia has also increased its manufacturing capability with two M4K-4 Printers from AMCM GmbH. AMCM, an affiliated company of EOS GmbH is gaining momentum in the USA as its M4K-4 technology has recently been acquired by aerospace manufacturer Morf3D. Furthermore, the company’s technology is not that new at Sintavia since it already has several 3D printers from the manufacturer:

Since the acquisition of our first M400-4 three years ago, Sintavia has devoted tremendous resources to developing successful and repeatable operating procedures for the quad laser printing of extremely thin walls, such as those found in the thrust chamber of a rocket,” said Brian Neff, Sintavia’s Chief Executive Officer. “We now have eight M400-4 quad laser printers, and we expect that the successful strategies employed on the M400-4 will likewise work on these new M4K-4 units. We are pleased that we will be the first rocket printer in North America to offer the expanded footprint of the M4K-4 to our commercial space customers.”

Resellers’ network

Imaginarium is now an official sales partner of GE Additive

Imaginarium has joined the global sales network of the additive manufacturing conglomerate GE Additive. The Indian 3D printing service bureau that we know for its contribution in the 3D printing of a ring with 7801 natural diamonds is already a reseller of HP 3D Printing technologies.

In GE Additive’s portfolio, the company will distribute the manufacturer’s Direct Metal Laser Melting (DMLM) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technologies, two products that can meet the needs of manufacturers across a wide range of industries, including the aerospace and defence, medical and dental, automotive, tool & die and jewellery.
