New post-printing solution paves the way for automated SLA resin removal

PostProcess Technologies Inc. has released a new post-printing solution for industrial 3D printing. Named DEMI 4000™, the new intelligent solution would pave the way for automated SLA resin removal.

The DEMI 4000™ follows the launch of the PLM-403 which would deliver six times the longevity of commonly-used IPA, resulting in less frequent chemical changeouts, less machine downtime, and a safer working environment using eco-friendly constituent elements.

Key features of the DEMI 4000™

The DEMI 4000™ is based on the manufacturer’s patented Submersed Vortex Cavitation (SVC) technology. To optimize resin removal, Postprocess explains that its SVC technology utilizes advanced ultrasonics, a vortex pumping scheme, and heat and variable fluid flow in concert with proprietary additive formulated chemistry.

It should be noted that the post-printing solution works with PostProcess’ AUTOMAT3D® software platform. The platform would make it easy for operators to take advantage of pre-programmed recipes. They also have the freedom to formulate their own recipes for the production of consistent end parts.

This means that the DEMI 4000™ can be optimized for various resins such as ceramic-filled resins and high-temp resins. Furthermore, operators could achieve multiple build trays of various heights and widths thanks to an adjustable and ergonomic lift system.

The process envelope of the DEMI 4000 is aligned with many of the most popular production level SLA 3D printers, including the 3D Systems ProX 800, RPS NEO800, and Stratasys V650.

By driving industry-leading innovation that enables high-scale and high-volume additive production, we’re confirming our position as a pioneer in the next phase in the future of additive manufacturing,” commented Rich Caplow, VP of Product, PostProcess Technologies. “Stereolithography is one of the most popular methods of 3D printing; with the addition of the DEMI 4000 to our portfolio, SLA users at all build sizes and volumes can accomplish complete resin removal using a software-intelligent solution that delivers the industry’s fastest cycle times with greater automation, and improved safety and sustainability.”

Postprocess’ technology has already convinced several customers across industries. From Splitvision to the recent Finnish Manufacturer Lillbacka Powerco Oy, Postprocess aims to help operators achieve lead times through digitalization. This additional solution to its products portfolio comes is another step they are taking to broaden industries’ additive capabilities, from prototyping and custom tooling to serial production.
