High-performing 3D filaments maker KIMYA, belonging to the ARMOR group has announced a partnership with 3D printer manufacturer INTAMSYS to offer a better 3D printing experience to customers.
The two AM companies are partnering in the Customer Application Enabling Program (CAEP), making Kimya ABS-ESD filaments available for INTAMSYS FUNMAT PRO 310 and FUNMAT PRO 410 3D printers.
Through this B2B partnership with Kimya, INTAMSYS is trying to upgrade its 3D printers to meet the needs of manufacturers by developing a repeatable manufacturing process with the help of technical 3D filaments and materials.
The Chinese 3D printer maker who has served a wide range of customers in the aerospace, automotive and rail sector was working on developing a cooperation program with key additive manufacturing industry players for a long time, which resulted in the launch of the Customer Application Enabling Program in 2019.
With this partnership, the two AM companies have unlocked new doors for ESD applications.
In the initial stage, only FUNMAT PRO 310 and FUNMAT PRO 410 3D printers will use the new filaments until the rest of the printer range gets approval.
Because of the ESD filaments, INTAMSYS 3D printers will be protected against electrostatic discharge damage which was underlined by INTAMSYS CEO Charles Han when he said: “The KIMYA ABS-ESD material, which is also easy to print, could meet the high demands of our customers in the industries of semiconductor, manufacturing or even energy. By collaborating with a company known for its expertise and excellence in filament manufacturing, we are confident that we can continue to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers”.
Kimya has been making “lightweight, rigid, easy to print” 3D filaments that can be used to protect 3D printers against electrostatic discharge since 2018.
Speaking about the partnership INTAMSYS Regional Sales and Marketing Manager Charlène Etienne said: “Through our Customer Application Enabling Program, we are looking for reliable partners. We only grant approval after carrying out a multitude of tests and internal checks on the properties claimed by the filament manufacturer. The tests carried out on the Kimya ABS-ESD were conclusive, confirming its excellent market reputation. Until now, we haven’t had an ESD-type material to offer, so we’re delighted to be able to select Kimya ABS-ESD filaments for our printers, because for us, the idea is always to meet the needs expressed by our customers”.
Meanwhile, Kimya Managing Director Benoît Stoeux said: “By promoting the use of our materials through a new printer manufacturer, we are contributing fully to the consolidation of this ecosystem”.
