Tomáš Vránek, CEO and founder of ICE Industrial Services, recently shared that his company completed a 3D printed restaurant.
ICE Industrial Services is a construction company providing construction automation, and concrete 3D printing services. The company started developing a concrete 3D printer just two years ago, in 2023. The development of its ICE Coral printer – which can be operated by a single construction operator, without the need for automation specialists or programmers to be present – was made along with the development of a height-adjustable robot that enabled the printing of walls and objects up to three metres high.
Described as the world’s first 3D printed restaurant, the company would have used its coral printer to prefabricate elements that constitute the structure.
The 3D-printed walls stand out in the design, seamlessly combining thermal insulation, interior elements, and exterior details in one process. The building’s exterior showcases two distinct textures: a sleek, water- and air-resistant lower cantilever and a rugged, rock-like upper section.
“High in the Czech Republic’s mountain peaks, a structure has arisen that is rewriting the history of construction and architecture. This revolutionary multistory building underscores our technological leadership in the 3D concrete printing industry, standing out in terms of quality, innovation, and architectural design. By using standard concrete and employing a highly automated process, the construction was both rapid and remarkably efficient,” Vránek enthuses.
For most people who will use the services of this cable car station and restaurant, the construction will have no significance/ For a bunch of people in the construction industry, it says a lot to the direction this market is taking.
