Software provider Oqton continues to partner with AM companies with different expertise to streamline the production with its platform. If the beginning of the year saw partnerships with Baker Hughes, Twikit and CASTOR, the latest partnerships announced by the Belgian company have been signed with machine manufacturers Farsoon and Xact – both of them operating in the field of metal 3D printing.
As a reminder, Oqton’s additive manufacturing software portfolio comprising 3DXpert, Amphyon, and Manufacturing OS are often at the heart of each partnership. As a matter of fact, the three software solutions are leveraged in the partnership with Farsoon while the Manufacturing OS and 3DXpert solutions are harnessed in the partnership with Xact.
With the goal of enabling a complete manufacturing workflow — from design through production — within a single software solution, Farsoon, the manufacturer of industrial-level polymer and metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) systems will integrate Oqton’s entire workflow.
This means that 3DXpert will serve for design optimization and toolpath planning, Amphyon for process simulation to improve print strategies, and its AI-powered Manufacturing OS platform running order optimization and scheduling, monitoring, and management.
Keeping in mind its goal of making metal AM affordable, Xact Metal aims to deliver automation and full process control. By integrating their additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, Xact Metal customers could address more applications using the features and built-in automation of Oqton’s 3DXpert and Manufacturing OS. Through the expansion of Oqton’s ecosystem on a new printing platform, the company’s customers are able to more easily adopt metal AM through a solution that meets their unique manufacturing requirements.
“Expanding our software options with Oqton’s solutions is the next step in our journey to expand access to metal 3D printing technology. Existing users of 3DXpert and Manufacturing OS no longer are required to learn new software to begin printing on Xact Metal printers. Oqton’s 3DXpert brings high-performing printing capabilities to our customers while Oqton’s dental software provides AI-driven proven solutions resulting in an easy-to-use workflow in dental applications,” Juan Mario Gomez, CEO of Xact Metal comments.
