The development of 3D printed mortars by Holcim Argentina and OEM Teknix Arg marks a step towards sustainable building in Argentina. Holcim’s presence in construction 3D printing is stronger in Europe and in Africa where the company not only invests in companies providing construction 3D printing technologies but also signs partnerships that lead to the construction of social housing.

Holcim’s 3D printing projects include bridges like the Striatus in Italy and the Phoenix in France, a school in Malawi, and fairly priced housing in Kenya. Together, Holcim and Teknix Arg show Tector mortar technology for 3D printing. With fewer resources to accomplish better-quality buildings, this teamwork is expected to increase output and inspire sustainable behaviors.

A full-scale wall was made in one working day recently. This success helps Teknix to make premade concrete pieces with a movable 3D printer for the on-site building of houses. This ability allows original and sustainable building solutions and new directions for architectural design as it depicts notable progress in building sustainability and enriching the economy.

3D printing is more than simply a tool for speed and accuracy in building, said Christian Dedeu, CEO of Holcim Argentina as it’s a commitment toward creativity.

The partnership with Teknix Arg to create a full-scale 3D printed wall shows how 3D printing technology can transform structures. Holcim portrays its dedication to innovation by consistently attempting to modify traditional building models and investigate novel technical domains. With this fascinating new building arenas underway, Holcim Argentina is well-positioned to lead the new way of construction.
