Hitachi Rail, a global player in the railway industry with advanced manufacturing units in Naples, Italy, and Maryland (USA), has collaborated with Roboze, a 3D printer manufacturer for fabricating railway spare parts.
The iconic high-speed bullet train is one of Hitachi Rail’s famous products. Hitachi Rail is spread across nearly 50 countries and is known for urban, mainline, and freight rail transportation. The company offers rolling stock, digital signaling, and smart operations.
Roboze offers comprehensive solutions for aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and mobility applications. Hitachi Rail will deploy the Roboze ARGO 500 system to produce spare parts using materials such as CARBON PEEK and ULTEM™ 9085.

Hitachi Rail will implement industrial 3D printing technology and benefit from Roboze’s expertise in superpolymers and composites.
The Additive Manufacturing technology from Roboze can be deployed for Hitachi’s prototype production and railway spare parts enabling cost-effective and faster production. Along with the supply of machines, Roboze provides engineering services and consulting to Hitachi Rail.

The Maryland unit of Hitachi Rail is geared to provide a fleet of 8000-series railcars for the WMATA (Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority). This collaboration will result in increased deployment of Additive Manufacturing in the railway sector. The transportation industry will move forward amidst innovation and sustainability.
