What does it take to remain one of a kind show in the virtual realm? With an unrivalled in-person event, Mesago, the organizer of Formnext, sharpens our eyes and minds with the way it is preparing for the upcoming virtual Formnext Connect 2020.

To create a seamless experience, Formnext has built a new studio in Frankfurt, the city we have all learned to appreciate as the German capital of AM. One month ago, the team shared a bit of these behind-the-scenes on their LinkedIn page.

In that studio, the entire team will be broadcasting a unique program that will highlight existing and future challenges in industrial 3D printing. A series of panel discussions will be carried out on the use of AM in fields including mechanical engineering, aerospace, medical technology, and the automobile industry. The participants will include high-ranking representatives from Airbus, AMT, Audi, Continental, KSB, MAG Medical, Ottobock, Schaeffler, Siemens, and VW.

Furthermore, just like the in-person events, several activities will take place at the same time, to give enough possibilities to visitors to choose the ones that best meet their interest. As mentioned in our recent articles on “what to expect from Formnext Connect? & how should AM companies prepare for it?”, these activities include topic-specific sessions, expert talks, roundtable events, and much more.

Alert for beginners in industrial 3D printers: on all three days of Formnext Connect, Discover3Dprinting seminars will welcome participants who are just getting started in industrials AM applications. Not to mention that the Additive Manufacturing Working Group (VDMA) will also be demonstrating real applications and corresponding expertise on the topic “AM for Industry – From Manual Work to Industrial Production” from Tuesday to Thursday.

Free access to conferences

However, unlike the other years, this year’s TCT Conference @ Formnext Connect will be accessible without an additional ticket as part of the exhibition’s supporting program.

In this vein, it is worth noting that the session on 11 November has been scheduled to reflect the time zones across the American continent, and the 12 November session will start early enough to accommodate participants from the Asia-Pacific region.

China as partner country

Remember that earlier this year, the event has announced that this 2020 edition will see China as partner country. As part of the program, November 12th will have China as a key focus. We might expect to learn more about the broader AM market in the Asia-Pacific region and listen to various discussions on current developments and opportunities.

Further content on additive manufacturing as it pertains to tool and mold making will round out the day’s program, with VDWF in particular, presenting on specific solutions and important trends.

Last but not least, the entire schedule can be viewed via the event calendar, which also makes it possible to access the individual sessions directly. Please note that the program is subject to change. The live program of Formnext Connect 2020 will end at 2:00 pm on Thursday, 12 November. The platform will, however, continue to offer its matchmaking and text-based chat functions along with plenty of on-demand content until 31 December.
