Formnext 2020: 559 exhibitors. There is cause for optimism for an event worthy of the AM industry

Scheduled to run from 10 to 13 November 2020, Formnext 2020 aims to keep its standard by showcasing an unprecedented number of innovations

In the current chaos that the world has to handle, we’ve seen the cancellation of several industry events, containment measures applied in almost every country, with little signs regarding when things will get back to a normal.

In this uncertainty, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, the organizer of Formnext, sends the entire additive manufacturing community a message of hope: “We are all counting on the situation to improve over the summer, making Formnext one of the first opportunities for the world of additive manufacturing to come together and exchange ideas in person again,” comments Sascha Wenzler.

With 559 registered exhibitors, the interest in the global gathering event has not decreased despite the economically challenging times.

As a matter of fact, the entire industrial process chain, from design through materials, software, and post-processing, is already well represented by established players of the industry.

Last but not least, this 2020 edition will see China as a partner country. Just like it was the case with the US last year, we might therefore expect a dedicated program for Chinese companies and delegations.

On the other hand, visitors at this year’s exhibition will continue to see further developments of other supporting events which include the special show additive4industry, and the joint booth of AG AM in VDMA e.V., the Start-Up Challenge, the purmundus challenge to name a few of them.

This 2020 edition of the Formnext event is certainly the great sign that we need right now whilst waiting for brighter days.
