Gefertec, a manufacturer of wire-based Directed Energy Deposition (DED) Additive Manufacturing machines, has been sold to Berlin.Industrial.Group (BIG) Holding, a coalition of several companies operating in medical and energy technology, tool construction and mechanical engineering, and the automotive industry.

B.I.G. has set itself the goal of making small, technologically leading companies successful in their markets.  GEFERTEC has been a member of the group since its founding in 2015 and in June 2022, the group had purchased 10% of the company.

Gefertec has always been quite discreet about their activities.  The company develops the 3DMP® technology that is based on modern arc welding in the form of ready-to-use production machinery. The company claims that its arc machine series offers perfect manufacturing solutions for metalworking companies as well as for research and development institutions.

“This gives GEFERTEC the necessary freedom of action to further expand and solidify its position in the growing market for 3D metal printing,” says Igor Haschke, managing director of GEFERTEC and owner of the Berlin.Industrial.Group. (B.I.G.). Demand for these machines is rising, particularly in the USA”, Igor Haschke, Managing Director, Gefertec, and owner of BIG comments.
