Airbnb is certainly among the top platforms people explore, when looking at a place during vacation. This time, one of the homes might even raise tech enthusiasts’ interest who have been dreaming to experience what’s like to live in a 3D printed home.
Yes, you read well…A 3D printed tiny home is one of the latest homes that have been made available on Airbnb. Named Fibonacci House, this 3D printed home would the first one to be built in Canada. Designed and built by Twente Additive Manufacturing, the 35 m2 Fibonacci House features a curve from its outside wall that spirals in on itself.
Other areas such as a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, and two bedding spaces with mezzanine areas reveal the builder’s intent to maximize living space while reducing material costs.
“The World’s first fully 3D Printed concrete tiny home on Airbnb. This unique architectural home was designed based on the famous Fibonacci Sequence. This is a fund raiser to help Canada-based non-profit World Housing continue their important mission, solving the housing crisis. Located in tranquil Procter, 40 km-s from Nelson, British Columbia. You can enjoy the grandiose view of the Purcell Mountains. Go hiking, mountain biking or take a walk to the community beach for a dip in the pristine Kootenay Lake”, one reads on Airbnb’s website.
From a manufacturing standpoint, it should be noted that the house is made up of 20 printed elements and built over 11 days. The organization plans to build a community of affordable living based on lessons learned from the Fibonacci House construction.
