3D printer manufacturer Farsoon has just unveiled a new metal 3D printer. Called FS273M, the metal AM system would be an improved version of its FS271M machine.
Available with single or dual laser options, the new machine features a 275×275×355mm build envelope; it would deliver required productivity, cost-efficiency, and industrial workflow for volume parts in metal 3D printing applications.
Key features include an advanced Dual-laser scanning and calibration algorithms which enhance the build volume rate by up to 2 times compared to the single-laser configuration. The manufacturer also explains that there is an improved communication signal control and a new re-coater which make it easy to control operational speeds powder delivery throughout the whole manufacturing process.
As far as serviceability is concerned, the machine comes with a filtration system that can extend operation time for longer builds and reducing the cost of filter changes. Operators can also utilize options such as preheated base-plate, robust recoating operations, removable overflow containers, and a powder supply sufficient for a full build to ensure the ease of operation of the machine.
As for cost performance, a press communication highlights that advanced digital optics system, robust control and truly open parameters provide the user with “unparalleled freedom of processing capability”; not to mention that “compact machine design enables denser, flexible factory layout for maximum throughput yield per floor area at an economical additive production cost.”
“Farsoon’s latest FS273M is the next generation of our medium-sized metal system FS271M, which was first introduced to market in 2015”, Says Don Xu, Director of Farsoon Global business Group and Managing Director of Farsoon Americas Corp. states. “We’ve spent the past 6 years optimizing the productivity, performance of the machine through continuous collaboration with our industrial partners; meanwhile keep pushing the true industrialization of the metal additive manufacturing by reducing customers’ cost of operation, especially for tight margin industries like molds & tooling”, he notes.
