DentaFab gets CE Mark for tow 3D Printing Resins

Known for the manufacture of DLP 3D Printers, DentaFab also formulates photopolymer resins for the dental and jewelry industries under the brand PowerResins. The company has announced it has received the European CE Class IIa certification for those biocompatible resins, a crucial milestone for the company when we know that these resins are meant to be used in patients’ mouth.

“Since 3 years, our most popular dental resins for dental labs were metal casting, emax press and our dental model resins. Since the launch, last year, of the new biocompatible temporary crown resin, we have seen great interest from dentists too. These resins were developed after 2 years of R&D efforts. We worked closely with dental professionals to achieve great mechanical properties and natural aesthetic look. We are pleased by the CE clearance as it will increase the spread of its use to many European countries,” said Hakan Güzelgöz, CEO of Dentafab. “Combined with our Dentafab Sega 3D Printer, dentists can print within 12 minutes and apply temporary crowns to patients while they remain on the dentist chair.”

Key characteristics of DentaFab’s biocompatible resins

Designed for applications such as crowns, bridges or onlays, the manufacturer ensures that temporary teeth printed with PowerResins Temp offer 2 times more durability than their competitors, with a flexural strength reaching over 120 MPa.

With such strength, teeth printed with PowerResins Temp can be used by the patients for 3 months. PowerResins Temp has Light and Medium color scales and it can be colored naturally with glaze application and easily post-processed.

The certified materials are compatible with all DLP or LED/LCD 3D printers but DentaFab recommends to use the material with its Sega DLP 3D printer, in order to achieve record time with applications. According to the producer, a plate of temporary teeth for instance, can be printed in just 12 minutes and it is ready to be applied in the patient’s mouth after it comes out of the machine.

As for the PowerResins Denture resin, it is used in making complete or partial dentures in dentistry. DentaFab explains in a press communication that the formulation of PowerResins Denture was developed taking into account all the expectations of dentists and laboratories regarding color, translucency and mechanical durability. PowerResins 3D Printed dentures are designed to remain in the patient’s mouth for years, providing long-term denture solution. It offers moisture resistance to prevent staining or discoloration, and is two times more resistant than a leading competitive formulation.

Making dentures with 3D printers provides accuracy, but it also speeds up the whole process,” said Hakan Güzelgöz, CEO of Dentafab. “After preparing the CAD file, dental labs can print several dentures in 30 minutes and place artificial teeth. “
